Guizhou贵州·黔 / 贵
Waterfalls, Miao silver, and China's last undiscovered minority province.
Guizhou is a rugged, province in the southwest, with peaks even more concentrated than Guangxi but a fraction of the foreign visitors.
It is home to — the silver-decked Miao, the blue-dyed Bouyei and the Dong with their drum-tower villages — and to at Huangguoshu.
The province has reinvented itself in the last decade as China's — both Apple's iCloud China datacentre and the world's largest radio telescope (FAST) sit on its karst plateau.

Miao Silver Heritage
Miao women wear their entire family wealth in silver — full headdress, neck rings, and embroidered skirts, especially at the spring Lusheng Festival in Kaili and Xijiang.

The Dong build entire villages of un-nailed wooden drum towers, wind-and-rain bridges and stilt houses. Their polyphonic choral singing is on UNESCO's intangible heritage list.

Tomato-and-red-rice fermented sour soup is the Miao's signature hotpot — a base utterly different from Sichuan, with whole river fish poached in it.
Moutai Baijiu
Maotai-style sorghum liquor, fermented in stone pits along the Chishui River, is China's most prestigious baijiu — a single bottle of vintage Moutai can outprice a fine Bordeaux.
Bouyei Indigo Heritage
The Bouyei people dye fabric with indigo and wax-resist patterns — the same tradition that gave the region its blue traditional dress and its modern handicraft markets.
